Happy New Year! 🥂🎆

I never thought I could ever visit this blog again! At first, I thought that working from home, because of this COVID-19 pandemic, could give me time to publish more often in this blog of mine but I was tremendously wrong. Working from home as an online teacher is way more demanding compare to the face-to-face classes. I can no longer draw the line between my personal and work time and space. I bet it will still take some time for me to really adjust in this new teaching and learning setup. Don’t get me wrong, I do not have problem at all when it comes to adapting with the technologies necessary for distance learning since I am an ICT for education enthusiast, but most of my stresses would come from the fact that most of my students cannot participate in our online classes and submit class requirements for so technology access and economic issues. (Insert a long and deep sigh here) I think we will just have to endure this until that time that everyone has been vaccinated and we have achieved herd immunity. 

Despite the lockdowns, I was able to still participate in many writeshops and workshops organized by the Department of Education: 

• SHS PRIMALS Writeshop on Entrepreneurship 
• Homeroom Guidance Program Module Writeshop 
• Career Guidance Program Policy Making Workshop 
• National Policy Guidelines for Educational Guidance and Counseling Services 
• SHS Writeshop on Empowerment Technologies 

I feel so blessed for the trust and confidence being given to me to participate in all these worthwhile endeavors. This new year, my only wish and fervent prayer is for all of us to have a better 2021. Stay safe and healthy always. God bless us all!

So it's goodbye 2014 and hello 2015!

I pray that this new year brings us new hope and courage to continuously pursue our dreams. We should be thankful to The One that gave us the past 365 days and be even more thankful for the chance to make all things new next year.

Welcome 2014!

So what is in store for me this year? Only God knows. Though I am somewhat expecting a lot for this year, because I have this gut feeling that most of my personal and career goals will come into realization this 2014 (I’m crossing my fingers).

Last night for the New Year’s Eve celebration, our family just had a simple dinner. Then, we attended a mass at St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church. The mass is not only a celebration of the New Year, but most importantly the mass was dedicated for Holy Queen. The priest said that it is important for the Catholic like us that every January 1, we also honor Mama Mary, the mother of mercy, the first apostle of Jesus Christ, the virgin who gave birth to our Lord.

We also enjoyed watching the fireworks display in our rooftop, while playing our loud music to drive away bad spirits (it’s become part of our tradition). Most of our neighbors really celebrate the New Year with a “bang!” as in with strong fire crackers. I just hope no one was hurt from them. Sadly, as I’ve read from the news, firecracker injuries were worse this year than the past five years. Filipinos should learn that we can still celebrate the New Year festively even with out those dangerous firecrackers.

By the way, about my New Year’s resolution, I’m actually planning to print it and post in a wall where I can always see it. This is to remind me every day of what I should accomplish for the whole year. Try it too. Let’s see if it will work. J

Happy New Year Everyone!

The year 2013 was indeed a roller coaster ride for me. I had experienced a lot of ups and downs. Well, I know that this is really life, it's not always rainbow in the sky. I need to be strong for my dreams and aspirations. 

I personally evaluate myself for the past year and I've realized that I missed a lot of my goals. I don't know if I just became too hard for myself last year, setting too many expectations. That's why for my 2014 New Year's Resolution, I just set some specific goals with time frame (I've realized the importance of time frame this will really motivate us to in achieving our goals). I see to it that these goals are attainable and feasible on my part. I will also have my monthly evaluation to see if I am really working towards my objectives this coming year. 

The countdown says that it's seven and a half hours, then we will say goodbye to 2013 and welcome 2014...
