Happy New Year Everyone!

The year 2013 was indeed a roller coaster ride for me. I had experienced a lot of ups and downs. Well, I know that this is really life, it's not always rainbow in the sky. I need to be strong for my dreams and aspirations.

I personally evaluate myself for the past year and I've realized that I missed a lot of my goals. I don't know if I just became too hard for myself last year, setting too many expectations. That's why for my 2014 New Year's Resolution, I just set some specific goals with time frame (I've realized the importance of time frame this will really motivate us to in achieving our goals). I see to it that these goals are attainable and feasible on my part. I will also have my monthly evaluation to see if I am really working towards my objectives this coming year.

The countdown says that it's seven and a half hours, then we will say goodbye to 2013 and welcome 2014...

Happy New Year Everyone !

May this new year brings us everlasting happiness, success, peace and prosperity!

Burn by Ellie Goulding

Sometimes when I feel so useless... bored or unmotivated to work, I will just listen to this song and it will bring back my enthusiasm and urge me to finish any task at hand...

I don't know... perhaps it's the beautiful lyrics, which are really inspiring, I would consider that "fire" as the passion for anything that we do. We should always keep it burning!

The smooth start and upbeat shift made this song very catchy and for sure it was already a favorite club music.

Christmas Novena 2013

I feel so blessed today that I have completed the nine-night series of masses called as "Simbang Gabi." To be honest, this is really my first time to complete this Christmas novena, and I am so happy that I did it with my beloved mother. We had some few attempts before, but some circumstances would not permit us to complete our attendance. So we really swear to ourselves that this year, we will really finish the novena. And we did it! Hurrah!

They said that once you completed the Christmas novena, the Lord would grant your wishes. For me, aside from this wonderful chance to offer a time for Him, having my wishes granted would just be a bonus from Him.  Well, I believe that He is a loving God, and that He would really grant all the desires of our heart in His own perfect time, no matter when you asked for it. Although, I should honestly say that deep within my heart, I really have some wishes that I would like to still come true.....

"I'm not a child, but still my heart can dream♪♫" as my favorite Christmas song goes... I still have dreams that I wish to come true... these are not only for me, also for my parents, two sisters, the whole family... I am very earnest for the realization of my dreams and I know that I can never achieve those alone... That's why I keep on praying for His Divine Intervention that I may be able to achieve them.

Topic for a Class Debate?

Oh-my! One of the tasks that we need to submit for the GURO21 Course 1 is a documentation for a CLASS DEBATE that we need to organize. I am teaching Computer Subjects and I just find it challenging to think for the topic that I can really relate to my field.

The passage of Cybercrime Law, which criminalizes any forms of computer crimes, is no longer an issue since it's officially recorded as a Republic Act No. 10175. I am thinking of the advantages versus the disadvantages of ICT in our lives, but is it really a debatable issue?  I am also considering the issue that Facebook should be totally banned among high school students... now this one could be something argumentative. Being hooked to online games is also a prospect topic for the class debate. I am giving myself to decide until this afternoon, so that I can still prepare the reference materials to guide my students in their research.

The module task also requires me to be observed by my instructional supervisor to assess the following aspects of my 21st Century Classroom Facilitation Skills:

  1. Facilitation style
  2. Accommodation of different learning styles
  3. Provision of learning environment that is conducive for active learning, higher order thinking and contextual learning
  4. Questioning and reacting skills

Season of Love and Giving

Welcome December!

This is it! The last month of the year! I already smell the holiday season... Family gatherings, treats, get-together and parties... But this year, most of the government agencies decided to donate their Christmas party funds to all the survivors of the Super Typhoon Yolanda. Our school will still have the party, but it was decided to hold it not too lavishly. We will just have a simple dinner in our covered court. This is to show our sympathy with all our fellow countrymen in the Visayas region who were still mourning for their losses.

Another thing that makes me excited during this season is the Simbang Gabi (Night Mass). This is part of Filipinos' family tradition, particularly those who are Roman Catholic. The goal is to complete the attendance for the nine-series mass, so that one could make a wish to Jesus. For us Filipinos, it becomes part of our devotion every December. After every mass, another thing that we are looking forward are the iconic foods like puto bungbong, bibingka and other kakanin, which are within or around the premises of the church.

All over the world, Christmas is celebrated as the season of love and giving. This is the time that we could share our blessings. Giving gifts not only to the ones we love, but also those who are in need.
